OBIT JOHNSON, CALLIE SMITH

JOHNSON, Callie Smith, 80, of Bedford, died Friday, August 20, 1993. She was born in Bedford County on April 10, 1913. She was the widow of Paul Ernest Johnson. Survivors include her son, James William Johnson, Northglenn, Colo.; a daughter, Mary Kirkland, Bedford; a sister, Rachel Donald, Niceville, Fla.; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 3 p.m., at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bedford Life Saving Crew or the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department.
