Nintendo and Silicon Graphics Inc., a pioneering computer graphics company responsible for special effects in "Jurassic Park" and "Terminator 2," are creating a game machine they said will change two-dimensional dinosaurs into lifelike, three-dimensional characters.
Users will feel they can reach out and touch the creatures - and vice versa - said Howard Lincoln, senior vice president of Nintendo of America Inc. The company said it will sell the machine for less than $250, and will have it and a package of three-dimensional games on sale by late 1995.
The game also will have a graphic processor, developed by Silicon Graphics, to provide specialized audio, video and graphics capabilities. - Washington Post
