FRANKLIN WOMAN HURT IN KNIFE FIGHT

A Franklin County woman required several hundred stitches Sunday evening after being cut with a razor-blade knife during a domestic dispute in Salem.

Salem police said Mary Lee Allen, 23, of Boones Mill suffered a cut from her shoulder to her elbow during the 8:49 p.m. incident on Camp North Road.

Police said Allen had been arguing with another woman over a man.

She was treated at Lewis-Gale Hospital.

The other woman involved in the altercation was treated at Community Hospital in Roanoke after cutting herself during the fight, police said.

Her name was not released. Malicious wounding charges against her are pending, police said.

It was the second time police had been called to the residence Sunday evening.

The two women had been arguing earlier in the evening and were told to leave by police.
