11TH-INNING HOMER EARNS BUCS 4-3 WIN

Angelo Encarnacion hit a wind-aided home run to center field with two outs in the top of the 11th, giving the Salem Buccaneers a 3-2 Carolina League victory over the Prince William Cannons on Monday.

It was the catcher's third home run of the season.

Mark Mesewicz (4-4) struck out two of three batters in the tenth inning for Salem and earned the win. Marc Pisciotta pitched the 11th for his tenth save.

Second baseman Chance Sanford was 4-for-5 with three doubles and an RBI for Salem which scored one run each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

Jon Farrell and Ramon Espinosa also drove in runs for the Bucs.

Andy Croghan (5-11) pitched the last three innings and took the loss for the Cannons, who had 10 hits and stranded 10 runners. \
