BLACKSBURG CLUB TO KICK OFF LUNCHEONS

The Blacksburg Sports Club will hold its 1993-94 Kickoff Luncheon at noon Wednesday at the Custom Catering Center on Patrick Henry Drive in Blacksburg.

Two area football coaches, Virginia Tech's Frank Beamer and Blacksburg High School's David Crist, will be the featured speakers. A hot luncheon buffet will be served for $6.50 per person. Reservations should be made by calling 953-2163 before Monday. Membership in the club is $10 and can be paid at the luncheon or at subsequent meetings.

Ryan Ketron shot a 75 to become the individual medalist at a Blue Ridge District golf meet Thursday, but it wasn't enough as Northside shot a 313 for the victory. William Byrd was three shots back at 316, followed by Lord Botetourt (319), Salem (331), Rockbridge County (331) and Alleghany (342).

With a two-match total of 615, William Byrd leads this season's team competition. The Terriers are followed by Northside (618), Lord Botetourt (630), Rockbridge County (682), Salem (693) and Alleghany (693).
