SCIENCE-FICTION WRITER IS CONVENTION GUEST

Award-winning writer Roger Zelazny will be guest of honor at the Kaleidoscope Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention Sept. 24-26 at the Radisson Hotel.

Patrick County author Rebecca Ore, Lynchburg author Jane Lindskold (who is writing a book about Zelazny), Holly Lisle, David Weber and Allen Wold are among the other guests. Artist guest of honor is Charles Vess, now living in Bristol, whose work has appeared in Marvel and DC Comics, National Lampoon and Reader's Digest.

The convention is being put on by those who staged SheVaCon in Staunton in February and donated $800 from the proceeds to Special Olympics of Virginia. This time, money raised will be divided between that program and the Lynchburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, which is seeking funds for a new vehicle.

Registration is $15, $8 for children ages 8-12, and $60 including a membership for a dealer's table. Write Lynchburg SF Association, 300 Harrison St., Lynchburg 24504, or call 528-1266).
