TOP POET TO GET $1,000 PRIZE

The National Library of Poetry will award a $1,000 grand prize to the top poet in the current round of its North American Open poetry contest.

The contest is open to all, and entry is free.

Any poet may enter. All semifinalists' and finalists' poems may be published in an anthology, which will sell for $49.95.

To enter, send one original poem on any subject and in any style to: The National Library of Poetry, 11419 Cronridge Drive, P.O. Box 704-ZI, Owings Mills, Md. 21117.

Poems should not exceed 20 lines. The poet's name and address should be on the top of the page. Entries should be postmarked by Sept. 30, but a new contest opens Oct. 1, and new rounds begin every three months.

A panel of editors judges all submissions.

Semifinalists should be notified within six weeks, and the top poets by early next year.

The National Library of Poetry is a for-profit publishing company.
