OBIT-DILLARD, FRED D. SR.

DILLARD, Fred D. Sr., 93, of Roanoke, died on Thursday night, August 26, 1993. He was the son of C. P. Dillard and Sallie Wirtz Dillard, and a member of West End United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Carrie Parker Dillard; a daughter, Betty Dillard Sublett, Roanoke; a son, Rev. F. Douglas Dillard Jr., Alexandria; three grandchildren, Linda Sublett Hodges, Roanoke, Captain F. Douglas Dillard III, Yokota Air Force Base, Japan, David Mark Dillard, Richmond; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, from West End United Methodist Church, with Bishop Thomas B. Stockton and Dr. Bernard S. Via officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to West End United Methodist Church (1221 Campbell Ave., S.W. Roanoke, Va. 24016). Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
