OBIT-CROSS, TIMOTHY BLAIR

CROSS, Timothy Blair, 41, Lt. Commander U.S. Navy, of Norfolk, passed away Sunday, August 22, 1993, while vacationing with his family in Outer Banks, N.C. The cause of death was cancer. He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Sink of Roanoke. He was presently assigned Navy amphbious Group II, Unit 60001 Norfolk, Va. Commander Cross' tenure in the navy included graduation from Nuclear Power School. He was assigned to submarine service aboard the USS Sea Devil (SSN 664), USS John Marshall, (SSN 611). Later assignments were aboard missile and amphibious vessels. He would have retired from the Navy September 1, 1993; and served 21 years in the Navy. Surviving are his wife, Cheryle Lynn Cross; twin daughters, Erin M. Cross, Erika M. Cross; son, Brandan M. Cross, all of Norfolk, Va.; mother, Charlotte Ann Horton, Woodland Hills, Calif.; father, John C. Cross, Chief Master Sgt. USAF (retired) of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Donald C. Cross, Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister, Jacquelin Cross, Bear Mountain Lake, Calif.; grandmother, Mrs. John C. Cross, Sacramento, Calif; uncle and wife, Michael Cross, Sacramento, Calif.; aunt and uncles, Rosemary and Dr. James Vaughan, Nashville, Tenn.; Raymond E. (Buddy) Sink Jr., John W. Sink and wife, Roanoke, Va.; great-uncles and aunts; cousins; and friends. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 p.m. Monday, August 30, 1993.
