OBIT LIGHT, RUTH WERTZ

LIGHT, Ruth Wertz 71, of Roanoke County, died Tuesday, August 31, 1993. Ruth was a long time member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren and was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Horace ("Raymond") Light; her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Horace Light, Jr. and Doris, Roanoke County; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Ralph Poff, Roanoke County; her grandchildren, Mark Light, Diane Tyler and husband, Mike, Stephen and Jonathon Poff; her great-granddaughter, Michaelia Tyler; three brothers, Irvin Wertz, Leonard Wertz, both of Roanoke County, Harvey Wertz, Lake Suzy, Fla.; a sister, Nell Gusler, Royal Oak, Mich.; a wonderful care giver, Mary Jo Burris. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel Thursday, September 2, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Maurice E. Wright officiating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Poages Mill Church of the Brethren Building Fund in her memory. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
