OBIT CROY, WILMER K.
CROY, Wilmer K. ("Bill"), 86, of Amherst, died Tuesday, August 31, 1993, in
a Lynchburg hospital. He was born in Giles County, a son of the late Alton and
Nannie Virginia Carper Croy. He was a member of Amherst Baptist Church. He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois McBride Croy; two sons, Warren W. Croy of
Fairfax and William E. McBride Jr., and his wife, Lee of Roanoke; three
grandchildren, Katherine Margaret and William E. McBride III of Roanoke. A
memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 2, at the Amherst
Baptist Church with the Rev. John Gordon officiating. Interment will be
private. The family will receive friends at the residence. In lieu of flowers,
the family suggests contributions be made to the Amherst Baptist Church. The
Driskill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
