OBIT VAUGHAN, JIM C.

VAUGHAN, Jim C., 45, of Elk Grove Village, Ill., died August 22, 1993, at his home, succumbed to the ravages of AIDS. Jim spent most of his life on center stage as a world traveler, story-teller, and bon vivant. He collected and shared friendships, stories, and fame. His employment of 25 years, starting with Norfolk and Western Railways and ending with Northwest Airlines, was the fulfillment of his lifetime dreams. Jim's passage through this illness was made easier by the love expressed in cards, letters, and phone calls from his family and many friends. Jim was a native of Roanoke, and graduated from Patrick Henry High School. He is survived by his wife, Lois Chism; two stepdaughters; his mother and father, Christine and M.D. Vaughan of Roanoke; a brother, sister-in-law and niece, Leigh, Sandra and Sharya Vaughan of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and a loving family of relatives and friends.
