NEW RIVER PEOPLE

Artist Z.L. FENG of Radford received the Adirondack Wilderness Award with the Rouse Gold Medallion and $2,000 for his watercolor "Morning Glories."

He also received an award of distinction and people's choice award at the 1993 Virginia Highlands Art Festival.

\ NADINE C. ALLEN of Blacksburg received an award of distinction and Lyndall Mason of Radford received an honorable mention at the 1993 Virginia Highlands Art Festival.

The REV. JIM FAIN, son of Tom and Ocie Fain of Blacksburg, received a master's degree in divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta two days after his son JONATHAN FAIN earned a bachelor's degree from Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn.

Jim Fain is the son-in-law of Ellen Dickerson of Blacksburg.

\ DON STOWERS, formerly of Montgomery County, was named principal of Green Run High School in Virginia Beach.

Stowers received a bachelor's degree and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and a master's degree from Radford University.
