OBIT OWEN, LEWIS BROWN

OWEN, Lewis Brown 67, of Salem, died Tuesday, August 31, 1993. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Singer Furniture. Mr. Owen was a member of West Salem Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Hattie Owen; a son, Michael Ashley Owen; and a brother, John Owen. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine (Geri) A. Owen; a son, Stacy Lewis Owen, Salem; daughter, Michele A. Patterson, Salem; grandsons, Brandon Phillip Patterson, Garth Owen Patterson; brothers and sister-in-law, Woodrow Owen, Roanoke, Melvin and Trudy Owen, Callaway; sisters, Mrs. Frankie Hogan, Mrs. Wesley (Alice) Austin, both of Lynchburg; Mrs. Georgia Gilbert, Roanoke, Mrs. W.C. (Ila) Guthrie, Boones Mill. Funeral services will be conducted noon Saturday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel by the Rev. Michael Slaughter. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
