WILLIAMS, Paul J. 77, of Pearisburg, died Wednesday, September 1, 1993 in
Giles Memorial Hospital. Mr. Williams was born in Burton, August 5, 1916, and
was a son of the late L. Buford and Naomi Stafford williams. He was a member
of the Rearspring Methodist Church. He was a retired employee of the
Hoechst-Celanese Corp. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force and served
in WWII. He was a member of the V. F. W. Post 6000, American Legion Post 311
and the Wabash Lodge #189 IOOF. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou
Hetherington Williams, Pearisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Renee
Williams, Roanoke; granddaughter, Alyson Williams, Roanoke; three brothers, L.
Buford Williams, Narrows, Charles r. Williams, Peterstown, W. Va., John O'Dell
Williams, Fairfax; five sisters, Julia Ellen Stafford, Roanoke, Dorothy Nix,
Charlottesville, Estelle Butts, Bane, Mozelle stafford, Trigg, Mary Williams,
Greenville, S.C. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, September
3, 1993 in the Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg, with the Rev. Larry Patton
officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park. The family will receive
friends at the Givens Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
