OBIT LACKEY, ADA CULLEN
LACKEY, Ada Cullen, 82, of Ipswich, Mass., formerly of Lexington, Va., died
Tuesday, August 31, 1993, in Sthephen-Caldwell Nursing Home, in Ipswich. She
was born in Greenville, Va., May 22, 1911, a daughter of the late Walter L.
Cullen and Ollie Myrtle Cullen. She was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian
Church, a former member of the D.A.R. and the Lexington Womens Club. Mrs.
Lackey was a former Housemother at Stewart Hall in Staunton, Va. She was the
widow of Cecil H. Lackey and was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Hester
Stamper, and Mrs. Edna Elliot; and one brother, Lewis Cullen. Surviving are
one daughter, Cynthia A. Sheppard, Ipswich, Mass.; one son, William M. Lackey,
Alexandria, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Musgrove, Buena Vista, Va., Miss
Marguerite Cullen, Buena Vista, Va.; Mrs. Virginia Benn, Houston, Texas; five
grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be
conducted Saturday morning 11 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with
Dr. L. Randolph Harrison officiating, with burial in Stonewall Jackson
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the
Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
