MORNINGSIDE SCHOOL PTA TO REMAIN ACTIVE

Although Morningside Elementary students will be divided among three schools this year while their school is closed for renovations, Morningside's PTA will still function with the same mission, said its president, Mary Strom.

"We'll still work with our kids in the other schools."

And they'll still raise money for the new playground equipment for Morningside's yard.

"There's so much that can be done - that needs to be done - that doesn't require you to be in the building," Strom said.

"Any parent can do it. Coming to the meetings is one of the best things any parent can do."

Morningside parents will meet with the PTAs of the temporary schools for this school year, said Strom. However, the Morningside PTA will do its own fund-raising.

For more information on how you can participate in Morningside Elementary's PTA, call Strom at 342-1262.
