ROANOKE VALLEY BAND STARTS ITS SECOND YEAR

The Roanoke Valley Community Band will begin its second season Tuesday with a rehearsal and sign up of new players.

The rehearsal will be at Cave Spring Junior High School in Roanoke County, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

M.C. White, president of the band, said anyone who plays a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument is welcome to join. Many of the members played in high school bands but had no place to play after they finished school.

Regular rehearsals will be on the first and third Tuesdays at Cave Spring Junior High.

White said the band, which is non-profit, hopes to arrange several community concerts this winter.
