EX-ROANOKER PAINTS A LITTLE HOLLYWOOD

Artist Anne Bell, formerly of Roanoke, and actress Debbie Reynolds, who has lived in Roanoke, have collaborated on a project to bring a major taste of Hollywood to Las Vegas.

Reynolds, who is married to Roanoke contractor Richard Hamblett, has commissioned Bell to provide extensive artwork for Reynolds' Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

When Reynolds decided to buy and renovate the 200-room hotel, she asked Bell to do a large mural along with free-standing portraits of movie stars.

The hotel has a movie theme, and Bell's mural is the focal point of the hotel's movie museum featuring artifacts from the "Golden Age of Hollywood."

Free-standing cutouts of movie stars are on display throughout the hotel.

Many of Bell's other artistic works are on sale at the hotel.

She has done murals for the Roanoke Valley Historical Museum and the Roanoke City Courthouse. She also has exhibited her works in many art shows throughout the Roanoke Valley for a number of years.
