WIDOWED PEOPLES' SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET

The Roanoke chapter of Widowed Persons Service - an outreach program in which trained widowed volunteers offer support to newly widowed people - will resume meeting Sept. 13. at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1831 Deyerle Road S.W.

Group sessions will be held each Monday at 2:30 p.m. Special monthly programs will be held Sundays at 3 p.m. The fall lineup is:

Sept. 19 - Sue Mason, psychologist, on being "Suddenly Single"'

Oct. 24 - the Rev. James Riach on "The Forgotten Man"

Nov. 21 - Frank Peters on "Financial Planning"

WPS is a national program founded in 1973. The Roanoke group was established in 1992. The American Association of Retired Persons contributes technical support to the development, organization and maintenance of local WPS groups.
