Activities and events at the fairgrounds on Virginia 311, south of New Castle, will include horticultural exhibits, arts and crafts, a beauty contests and entertainment.
On Sept. 11, the main day of the fair, events begin at 10 a.m. with a forestry field contest. A garden tiller race will be held at 2 p.m., and a country hoedown dance will be at 8 p.m. with music by the Meadow Creek Express.
A new feature this year will be a special exhibit known as "Old McDonald's Farm," sponsored by the county's 4-H clubs and open throughout the fair.
Rides and games of skill will be provided each night by Colonial Shows of Williamsburg.
