OBIT-SAULS, DOROTHY BUNTS
SAULS, Dorothy Bunts, 75, of Litchfield 12, 490 Court St., Abingdon, died
Thursday, September 2, 1993, at the Greenville Memorial Hospital, following a
brief illness. Born October 1, 1917, in Williamston, W.Va., she was a daughter
of the late Rev. Dr. Walton M. Bunts and Elizabeth Goodpasture Bunts. She was
a graduate of Emory and Henry College in Emory, and taught in Smyth Co., Va.
schools. She was a member of the D.A.R. in Abingdon, a member of the First
United Methodist Church in Abingdon, and was active in all phases of the
church and civic affairs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard
Robert Sauls, March 28, 1983. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. John (Ruth)
Warner Jr., Greenville, S.C.; one niece, Ms. Elizabeth McKinney of
Christiansburg; one nephew, John I. Warner III, Greenville, S.C. Funeral
services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 1993, in the Emory and
Henry College Memorial Chapel in Emory, with the Rev. David St.Clair
officiating. Burial will follow at the Holston Conference Cemetery in Emory.
The family will receive friends, before the services at 2:30 p.m. at the
church. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and that
those desiring, make memorials to the W. M. Bunts Jr. Memorial Scholarship,
Emory and Henry College, Emory, Va. 24327-0947, or to the charity of ones
choice. Farris Funeral Service of Abingdon is in charge of arrangements.
