Casey Underwood passed for two touchdowns, ran for two, kicked a 31-yard field goal and booted three conversions Friday night to lead the Bobcats to a season-opening 30-0 rout of Covington.
Radford kept the football most of the game, and Covington managed only 33 yards total offense. The Bobcats ran for 190, led by Larnelle Lewis' 60 on 14 carries and Jamell Hendricks' 55 yards on six rushes.
Underwood completed 11 of 15 passes for 136 yards without an interception, and his five carries for 26 yards included scoring runs of 2 and 8 yards.

RINER - Kevin Burton ran for three touchdowns and Chris Bass threw for one as the Indians opened their season by whipping the Eagles in a non-district matchup.
Bass started the scoring with a 12-yard pass to Seth Taylor, then Burton scored the next three touchdowns to give the Indians a 28-0 lead. Jason Childers ended the first-half scoring and made it 35-0 with a 74-yard run.

HILLSVILLE - Charles McClain and Andy Stanley combined for 215 yards rushing and four touchdowns as Patrick County blanked the Cavaliers in a non-district game.
Patrick County opened its season; Carroll County is 0-2.
Stanley ran 10 times for 113 yards and scored on a 49-yard run. McClain ran 20 times for 102 yards and scored three times. The pair had all but 24 yards of Patrick County's offense.
Carroll County had 195 yards total offense and had three turnovers. Running back Nicky Rodrigue had 19 carries for 106 yards.

Bland County 0
BLAND - Bobby Melton scored the only touchdown of the game in the second quarter as Maroon Tide edged the Bears in a Mountain Empire District defensive struggle.
Melton rushed 11 times for 94 yards and Scott Hampton added 55 yards on 14 carries as Galax (1-0, 1-0) amassed 207 rushing yards while holding Bland County (1-1, 0-1) to 78.
The Bears rallied late in the fourth quarter and drove to the Maroon Tide's 11 with less than two minutes to go, but lost their scoring opportunity with two penalties and a sack.
