OBIT-ABBOTT, RUBY R.

ABBOTT, Ruby R., of Craig County, died Thursday, September 2, 1993, in a Salem hospital. She was born August 15, 1920, and resided with her husband, Luther Abbott for 56 years at Route 1, Box 482, Catawba. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, John and Anita McCormick, Ronnie and Helen Looney; her mother, Mattie Quinn Robertson, and a special aunt, Alice Quinn Lee; brothers, James R. and Edward Robertson; sisters, Aranilla Gaunt, Mary Payne, Genneva Hall, Sylvia Thornton, and Jaunita Gray; grandchildren, Karen Abbott and her husband, Richard Huffman Jr., Vince Abbott and Eric Abbot, Jim Looney and wife, Karen, David Looney and wife, Sharon, and Michael Looney; great-grandchildren, Brandy Huffman, Desirae Abbott, and Emily Looney; many beloved nieces, nephews, and a special cousin, Iris Brickey. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Robertson and a great-grandson, Vince Abbott Jr. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 2 p.m. by Rev. Jim Morris at Mountain View Christian Church, with burial in Brickey Cemetery, located on Rt. 311, 6 miles South of New Castle. Boitnott Funeral Home is handling arrangements and visitation with the family will be there 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
