CABINETMAKER GETS NEW NAME, OWNERS

Leo Scott Cabinets Inc. of Ferrum will have a new name and owners starting Tuesday. The new owners are John Harrison, who will be president of Scott Manufacturing Inc., and Frank Eddy, the sales and marketing director. Both plan to move to Franklin County from Fort Washington, Md.

The company, an established maker of millwork for both commercial and residential markets, has 65 employees.

Harrison lived in Roanoke in 1962 and 1963. He is married to the former Barbara Belcher of Salem.

Harrison said the owners plan no changes in company employment and operations.

Leo Scott, who founded the company in 1956, will work as a consultant until next July. His son, Mike Scott, will continue as vice president and manager of production.

The company is a manufacturer of wood and laminated cabinets. It serves clients in a 150-mile radius from its 40,000-square foot plant and 5,000 square-foot showroom. - Staff report
