AUTOMATIC TELLER BANK MACHINES FAIL

A storm or some sort of electrical interference left several Dominion/First Union Bank customers in front of an ATM with cards that wouldn't work Saturday.

Automatic teller machines at Towers Shopping Center malfunctioned Saturday morning and a machine at Valley View Mall was giving trouble late in the afternoon, a bank worker said.

The bank has been changing the machines from the Dominion computer program to First Union's program for the past couple of weeks.
