OBIT VIAR, WILLIAM RICHARD

VIAR, William Richard, 59, of Roanoke, died Thursday, September 2, 1993. He was a long term employee of Great Coastal Trucking Company where he will be missed by his many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Viar and is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine V. and Scott Shrewsbury of Daleville, Teresa V. and Christopher Sowers of Troutville, Elicia W. and William Blair Jr. of Roanoke, Greta W. and Steven Dunford of Blacksburg and Kristen L. Viar of Roanoke; sons, Richard N. Viar of Roanoke and James R. Walters II of Blacksburg; his mother, Lake Akers Viar of Salem; brothers and sisters-in-law, James M. and Sandra Viar of Atlanta, Ga., Don and Diane Poff of Roanoke and Dale and Annie Smith of Salem; nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday at the Lotz Salem Chapel by the Rev. Sam McPhail, with burial in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday or Monday at the Lotz Salem Chapel.
