OBIT AYRES, COLLEEN SAVILLE
AYRES, Colleen Saville, 79, of Lexington, died Friday, September 3, 1993,
in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born December 8, 1913, in Rockbridge County,
she was the daughter of the late Jacob O. Saville and Mary Margaret Saville.
She was a member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church, the Murat Womens Club and
Rockbridge County Retired Teachers Association, having taught for 37 years.
Mrs. Ayres was the widow of Ira William Ayres. Surviving are three sisters,
Bernice S. Black of Roanoke, Della S. Swink of Glasgow, Jane S. Greever of
Lexington; foster brother, Charles E. Rothwell, Springwood; three nieces and
one nephew. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at Oxford
Presbyterian Cemetery, Monday morning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barton Hellmuth
officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the
Harrison Funeral Home.
