OBIT COLEMAN, J. PHILLIPS
COLEMAN, J. Phillips, 90, of Atlantic Beach, N.C., died Saturday, August
21, 1993, at his home after a long illness. He was born on January 21, 1903,
in Roanoke. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia. He began his
banking career at Bankers Trust Company in New York City before joining the
staff of First and Merchants National Bank in Richmond, where he rose to the
position of Chairman of the Board. Surviving is one nephew, Richard F. Coleman
of Roanoke.
