3 SURVIVORS OF PLANE CRASH SATISFACTORY

Three people who survived the crash of a small plane in Giles County were all listed in satisfactory condition Sunday at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

A Richmond woman, Lucy Rosbe, 48, was dead when rescue workers reached the Cessna on Saturday near Smith Mountain Lake.

The survivors who were brought to Roanoke by helicopter are the pilot, William Rosbe, 46, of Richmond; Richard Langford, 46, of Blacksburg, and Langford's 12-year-old son.

The Rosbes were husband and wife, according to state Trooper Jeff Rose. He said Rosbe and Langford were business associates.

They were trapped inside the plane for nearly four hours before rescue workers located the wreckage. It took rescuers another two hours to free the victims.
