OBIT SWANN, THELMA TINNELL VINYARD

SWANN, Thelma Tinnell Vinyard, 85, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, September 3, 1993. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Vinyard and Larry T. Swann. Mrs. Swann was a member of West End Presbyterian Church and is survived by two daughters, Beverly V. Rapp, Roanoke, Doris V. Gross, Troutville; seven grandchildren, Calvin L. Lucas Jr., Connie L. Crowder, Christopher G. Gross, J. Lee Gross, Preston W. Gross, Jennifer L. Gross, and Hope L. Gross; four great-grandchildren, James, Carrie, Alan, and Karen Crowder; three sisters, Hazel Lewis, South Charleston, W.Va., Ora Turner, Greensboro, N.C., and Pauline Poindexter, Novato, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside, Sherwood Burial Park, 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 1993, with the Rev. H. D. Scoggins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Memorial Fund, care of West End Presbyterian Church, 1200 Campbell Avenue, S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Roanoke.
