OBIT DAVIS, LULA DAWN

DAVIS, Lula Dawn, 64, of 822 Washington Square, Pulaski, died Saturday night, September 4, 1993, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Pulaski County on August 23, 1929, and she was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry A. Davis Sr. and Effie R. Adams Davis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Pearce Adams. She was a former employee of the Virginia Maid Hosiery Mill, Pulaski. Surviving are two sons, Raymond Roscoe (Sonny) LaRue, Fries, Ronald Steven (Rony) LaRue, Salem; four sisters, Evelyn Adams Branscome, Hazelhurst, Ga., Louise Harris, Libertyville, Ill., Mrs. Ray (Iris) Pennington, Barren Springs, Elizabeth Davis, Dublin; six brothers, H. A. Davis Jr., Pulaski, Thomas A. Davis, Joseph E. Davis, both of Richmond, Mark A. Davis, Hope Mills, N.C., J. Roy Davis, Bassett, Kyle (Bobby) Davis, Roanoke; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper's Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Wythe County. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
