Dobbins, who coached one of Radford's first intercollegiate teams in 1972, has amassed a 344-208 record in her 18 seasons. She stepped down briefly in 1986 after the last NCAA Division II Highlander team went 31-13. She returned in 1989 and capped a rebuilding effort when her team won the Big South Conference championship in 1990.
Dobbins' teams have posted 15 winning seasons and she has coached eight teams to 20 or more wins and two teams to 30-win seasons. Her 344 career wins is easily the most in school history. The Radford native led the school to Virginia state championships in 1980 and 1981.

Lisa Pikalek, a 1993 Virginia Tech graduate and former Academic All-American, has been voted the Virginia winner for the 1993 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Pikalek, from Tinley Park, Ill., was one of 51 state winners who will be pared to 10 finalists in October. The overall winner will be announced in November.
