COVINGTON TEAM LOSES IN MID-ATLANTIC SOFTBALL FINAL

The Greensboro (N.C.) Merchants edged Dairy Queen of Covington 17-16 on Monday to win the Men's Class B United States Slowpitch Softball Association's Mid-Atlantic Divisional Championship at the Moyer Sports Complex. Greensboro posted a 6-0 record in the 38-team tournament to advance to the World Series of Slowpitch Softball to be held Sept. 24-26 in Florence, S.C.
