OBIT MCMAHAN, BOYD COPELAN

MCMAHAN, Boyd Copelan, 73, of Longshop, died Monday, September 6, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. McMahan was born in Montgomery County on May 24, 1920, to the late Jessie and Carrie Woolwine McMahan, and as a child he was raised by the late Kipps and Nora Woolwine. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was a member of Longshop-McCoy Fire and Rescue Department for 32 years and attended Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice Keister McMahan; one daughter and son-in-law, Lenora and Leon Linkous; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey B. and Mary S. McMahan; one grandson, David R. McMahan; one granddaughter, Shela Marie McMahan; one sister, Charlotte Linkous, all of Blacksburg; many friends. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Stephen L. Linkous; three sisters and a half brother. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 1993, at 11 a.m. at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Sloss and Mr. Bobby E. Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Harless Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Longshop-McCoy Fire and Rescue Department, P.O. Box 489, Blacksburg, VA 24111. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
