OBIT JOHNSTON, LEODA GERTRUDE ELMORE

JOHNSTON, Leoda Gertrude Elmore, 91, of Gallipolis, Ohio, formerly of Giles County, passed away Saturday, September 4, 1993, at a Point Pleasant, W.Va. nursing care center. She was a graduate of the Edmonds School of Nursing in Danville, and served as a nurse in the New River Valley. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Luther Scott Johnston. Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Virginia Guinther, Gallipolis, Ohio; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 8, 1993, at 11 a.m. at the Riffe's Funeral Chapel, Narrows, with Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service, Narrows, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
