3 WORKERS HURT IN PANEL EXPLOSION

Three workers at the Federal Mogul Corp. plant in Blacksburg suffered minor injuries Tuesday when an electrical panel monitoring an ammonia gas tank exploded.

Dave Garrard, Walter Lucas and Wayne Sheaver were working on the electrical board when it exploded at 3:20 p.m., according to a news release issued by Blacksburg police.

All three men were treated at Montgomery Regional Hospital and released. No gas was released.

Federal Mogul, which makes engine bearings, is in the Blacksburg Industrial Park.
