OBIT CROMER, BEULAH FRANCES MERRITT

CROMER, Beulah Frances Merritt, 69, of Salem, died Monday, September 6, 1993. She is survived by her husband, Conrad L. Cromer; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Wendy Smith, Roanoke, Jesse T. ("Sonny)" Smith, New Castle, Roger W. Smith, Mt. Airy, N.C.; stepsons and wife, Richard and Barbara Cromer, Salem, Lesley Cromer, Baltimore, Md.; stepdaughter, Phyllis Laster, Salem; sister, Irene Merritt Drummond, Eagle Rock; mother-in-law, Evelyn C. Cromer, Salem; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 stepgrandchildren; also a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse Smith; two daughters, Norma Jean All, Barbara Ann Fisher. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Billy E. White Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
