OBIT SINK, ERSKINE E.
SINK, Erskine E., ("Jack"), 67, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, September 7,
1993. Mr. Sink was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church, a veteran of World
War II, and a former N&W Railway employee with 46 years service. He was an
avid bowler for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his father, George
W. Sink and a brother Sherwood F. Townsend. Mr. Sink was a very devoted
husband and father and is survived by his wife, Dorothy H. Sink; daughters and
son-in-law, Deborah S. and Larry R. Hall, Cindy S. Stephens, all of Roanoke;
his mother, Lydia Townsend Sink, Roanoke; three grandchildren, Daniel
Stephens, Cara Hall and Hollie Hall; a sister, Edna S. Harris, Roanoke; half
sisters and half brothers, Doris Carbaugh, Sebring, Fla., George Sink,
Middleburg, Fla., Russell Sink, Tampa, Fla., Nancy Richard, Daleville, Norma
Bradley, Savannah, Ga., Samuel Sink, Princeton, W. Va., Jerry Sink, Richmond,
Darlene Spangler, Richmond; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel noon Friday,
September 10, 1993, with Dr. Woodrow Clark officiating. Interment will be in
Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that
memorial donations be made to the Leukemia Society of America, P.O. Box 21,
Hampton, VA 23666. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 2 to
4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
