ALLSTATE CORP. TO BEGIN OPTIONS TRADING ON AMEX

Allstate Corp., the Northbrook, Ill. insurance company with a regional operations center in Roanoke County, will begin options trading Monday on the American Stock Exchange. Its trading symbol will be ALL. The company's put-and-call options, generally to buy and sell contracts at future dates, will open with prices of 25, 30 and 35, and limits of 8,000 contracts. Initial expiration months will be October and November 1993, and January and April 1994.
