IN SERVICE

AIR FORCE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE CIVILIAN J. BYRON MORRIS of Roanoke has arrived for duty at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. He is a deputy base civil engineer.

\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT THOMAS W. PUGH, son of Harry B. Pugh of Roanoke, completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego, Calif.

\ NAVY ENSIGN STEVEN J. SCHANG of Buchanan was designated a naval aviator. He was presented with Wings of Gold, which marked the culmination of months of flight training with Naval Air Training Unit, Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, Calif.

\ STOREKEEPER SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER DONALD T. WILLIAMS of Roanoke has been promoted to his present rank while serving as senior enlisted adviser for the NR USS Miller FF-1091 unit. He is stationed at the Naval Marine Corps Reserve Center, Roanoke.

\ AIRMAN 1ST CLASS DAVID F. TRIPP, son of Mazie R. and Bernie W. Tripp of New Castle, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base.

\ NAVY PETTY OFFICER 1ST CLASS WILLIAM W. JONES, son of William W. and Janie B. Jones of Roanoke, reported for duty at Navy Recruiting District, N.C.

\ NAVY PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS JONATHAN ROBINSON, son of Rosa L. Robinson of Roanoke, moved from the Mediterranean Sea aboard the destroyer tender USS Shenandoah, which is based in Norfolk, and is now in the Persian Gulf.
