VOTING SIGN-UPS SITES ADDED

Special sites have been set up through Oct. 2 to make it easier for Roanoke Valley residents to register to vote in the Nov. 2 election.

The deadline for registration is Oct. 4 at 5 p.m.

In addition, the registrars' offices will be open and registering people.

A governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, General Assembly representatives and some Roanoke Valley constitutional officers will be elected.

Persons must be 18 on or before Nov. 2 in order to register to vote. The last day for receiving applications for absentee ballots in the mail is Oct. 28, and the last day for in-person absentee voting is Oct. 30.

Residents can register at any of the sites on the accompanying chart or call the registrar's office in their communities.
