PERRY, Doreen Melvin, 81, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, September 7, 1993, in a
local hospital. She was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church. Surviving
are her sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence E. Jr. (Larry) and Joanne S.
Perry, Roanoke, George M. and Doris M. Perry, Powell, Tenn., Howard L. and
Rowena P. Perry, Oak Hill, W.Va., Rev. James H. and Johanna T. Perry, Exmore,
Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Perry and John Englert, Howard Beach,
N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister and brother-in-law, Helen
M. and Worth Cone, Spring Hope, N.C. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's
South Chapel, 11 a.m. on Friday, with the Rev. Harold Lewis, The Rev. J.
Landon Maddex, and the Rev. James H. Perry officiating. Interment will follow
in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to the Villa
Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 4080 Challenger Drive, Roanoke, VA
24012. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday at Oakey's South Chapel.
