OBIT CHASZAR, LT. ROBERT ALEX JR.
CHASZAR, Lt. Robert Alex Jr., 27, of Virginia Beach, died Wednesday,
September 8, 1993. He was a graduate of Glenvar High School, 1984 and a
graduate of VMI, 1988. He was commissioned in to the United States Navy in May
of 1988. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brooke Meacham Chaszar; a
daughter, Courtney Brooke Chaszar; his mother, Bonnie Henderson Chaszar of
Salem; his father, Robert A. Chaszar Sr. of Salem; a brother, Eric H. Chaszar;
a sister, Dana N. Chaszar, both of Salem; a grandmother, Evelyn Chaszar of
Fincastle; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Russel Meacham of
Layton, Utah; stepgrandmother, Novella O. Henderson of Roanoke County;
numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his
grandparents, Woodrow Wilson Sr. and Mildred Sawyers Henderson and Louis
Chaszar. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Salem Stake Center, 6311 Wayburn Drive,
Salem, with Bishop Tim Layton officiating. Burial will follow at Ferguson
Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at
the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem.
