OBIT PRITT, ELLA WILSON NEILY
PRITT, Ella Wilson Neily, 84, of Wytheville, died Wednesday, September 8,
1993, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born on September 8,
1909, near Speedwell at the ancestral home of her great-great-grandfather,
Col. Stephen Sanders. Her parents were Harry Wilson Neily and Ella Belle
Sanders Neily. She was also the great-granddaughter of Maj. Robert D. Martin
of Pulaski. Mrs. Pritt attended school in Wytheville and Pulaski and was a
graduate of the National Business College in Roanoke. She resided in
Austinville for thirty years prior to the death of her husband, James E. Pritt
Sr. She managed the Wythe Motor Lodge (McWythe Inn) for seventeen years. She
was a member of the Stuart Chapter of the Daughters of the American
Revolution; a past member of the Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of
America; and the Wythe County Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Pritt
is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James E. Pritt Jr. and Doris
Nelson Pritt of Wytheville; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, James Chaffin
Pritt and Kelly Lynn Pritt of Woodbridge, Va.; a granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn
Pritt of Decatur, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Amie Kristine, Ryan Mathew
and Joshua David Pritt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at
the Grubb Funeral Home, with the Rev. W. T. Newland Jr. officiating. Interment
will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski. Flowers will be appreciated,
however, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Support Services of
the Wythe-Bland Counties, Inc., P.O. Box 381, Wytheville, Va. 24382, the Wythe
County Rescue Squad or a charity of your choice. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Grubb Funeral Home or at the
residence, 180 W. Madison Street, at anytime. The Grubb Funeral Home is in
charge of the arrangements.
