"The follow-up survey was very successful," said administrator Bruce Ward. "I feel very good about it."
The state had forbidden the 141-bed facility on King George Avenue from admitting any new patients after a surprise inspection in July that turned up a long list of violations of state licensure and federal certification regulations.
The nursing home was cited, among other things, for neglect of patients, offensive odors, insect problems, and erratic patient record-keeping.
As required by law, the facility filed a plan of correction and was ordered to clean up the problems by Friday.
A three-member team from the state Office of Health Facilities surveyed the facility this week. The team will report its findings to the Richmond office, which is scheduled to issue a final report soon.
