OBIT SBURKS, LAWRENCE EDWARD

BURKS, Lawrence Edward, 55, of Roanoke, died Thursday, September 9, 1993. He is survived by his mother, Mabel V. Burks, Buchanan; one daughter, Christie L. Burks, Roanoke; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James A. Burks, Lynchburg, Clyde H. and Faye Burks, Roanoke; one grandchild, Krashan Burks; a special friend, Bertha Moore, Roanoke; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 12, 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Buchanan, with the Rev. Donald K. Clayborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. A wake will be held Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Rader Funeral Home in Buchanan.
