OBIT HUGHES, JAMES BRADY

HUGHES, James Brady, 88, of Roanoke, died Thursday, September 9, 1993, at his home. Mr. Hughes was retired from L. B. Smith, Inc. Survivors include his wife, Elma A. Hughes; one son and daughter-in-law, Palmer Doyle and Mary Thomas, Dunwoody, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Willie and Jerry Collins, Roanoke; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Sherwood Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 11, with the Rev. Alton M. Washington officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, Inc., 4235 Colonial Ave., S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24018. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel.
