OBIT RATCLIFFE, BRIAN KEITH
RATCLIFFE, Brian Keith, 28, of Pearisburg, died Thursday evening September
9, 1993, in a mining accident in Giles County. Born in Giles County on June 7,
1965, he was a son of Oakley Ratcliffe of Pearisburg, and the late Janice
Thorne Ratcliffe. He was an employee of A. P. Green Lime Company, Kimballton
Plant. He was a member of the Giles County Life Saving and Rescue Squad and
Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department. Other survivors include his wife, Sharon
Williams Ratcliffe; one daughter, Brittany Noel Ratcliffe, of the home; two
brothers and sisters-in-law, Timothy and Reba J. Ratcliffe, Gregg and Kathy W.
Ratcliffe, all of Pearisburg; one sister, Marilyn R. Echols and
brother-in-law, Lloyd of Newport; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Thorne,
Narrows; three nephews, Michael, Jason, and Jacob; one niece, Miranda; a
special friend, Dal Woodyard. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4
p.m. in the New River Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints, Pembroke, with Bishop Ted Johnson presiding. Burial will be in
Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the
Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
