NOBODY LIKES MONDAY ANYWAY

Having just returned from a trip, I noticed the headline inside last week's New River Current stating "Acres of Democrats Barbecue Monday." This really should have been front page top, with the most bold type possible.

The seven-day calendar has been with us since around the 16th century, so I certainly hope that our local Democrats aren't planning to barbecue Mondays.

But now the idea of acres of Democrats barbecuing on any given day is a most delightful one indeed! However, in the name of sportsmanship and decency, let's barbecue acres of Republicans along with them. I like my politicians seared at a very high temperature and cooked until quite well done.

Pass the sauce please.\ F. Wm. McPherson\ Shawsville
